Below you’ll find the general information and the most important details for the Transfagarasan marathon on the 14th June 2020

 

Start: 


5:30 a.m on the bottom station of the cable way to the Balea Lac (Balea Cascada).

 

 

Finish:


Balea Lac (finish will be closed at 1 p.m.) 

 

Entry fee: 


65,00 € until 31.12.2019


70,00 € until 31.03.2020 


75,00 € until 14.06.2020 


80,00 € on the 14.06.2020 locally 

 

Starting documents: 


Collection on the 14th June 2020 from 03:30 until 05:00 a.m. directly at the start

 

The entry fee includes:

Luggage transport to the finish, Finisher-Shirt, Medal, Catering during the run about every 5 km

(the return to the starting point is possible with the cable car at your own expense).

 

 

Locations and Directions:

The start is on the bottom station of the cable way to the Balea Lac (Balea Cascada),

directly on the Fagarasan mountain road. 

The starting point is signposted. The nearest international airport is in Sibiu (about 50 km away). We recommend the international participants to take a rental car.

 

Overnight stays:

Björn Grass Laufreisen organizes a running camp for the 1st Transfagarasan Marathon from 

10th to 17th June 2019.

Route:

1.850 high meters, of which are the last 13 km (800 high meters) on the Fagarasan mountain road (paved) are identical with the course of the 

13 km mountain run. The marathon route is asphalted to 70%.

 

Refreshment stations:

Every 5 km there are refreshment stations along the marathon route + finish catering. The exact elements will be announced later.

 

Rating:

Men /Women:

Overall ranking

18 to 29 years

30 to 39 years

40 to 49 years

50 to 59 years, etc.

Place 1-3 of each class will be honored (at least 3 starters in the respective class are required, otherwise the score will be in the next lower class).

 

Decisive is the age on the day of the event.
